Harty Cup: Thurles CBS manager Buckley very proud of his young team ahead of Sunday's final

The eagerly awaited day has arrived for the senior hurlers in Thurles CBS and Nenagh CBS. Both Tipperary schools are represented today in the Harty Cup with both schools in opposite sides of the draw.

All four quarter-finals in the competition are down for decision today in the Munster U19 A schools hurling championship which was won last year by Cashel Community School.

In that final they played Thurles CBS who are still in the hunt for this years title. Still featuring a number of last years team, including sharpshooter Robbie Ryan, last year’s beaten finalists will play St Flannan’s of Ennis this afternoon in Meelick with throw in at 1pm.

The winner of that game will play the winner of Ardscoil Rís and John The Baptist CS Hospital in the last four. The latter two schools meet in Kilmallock at the same time this afternoon.

The route to the final is clear for Nenagh CBS also as they play CBC Cork this afternoon in Bansha in a match that also throws in at 1pm.

The winners of that game will take on either Midleton CBS or Charleville CBS in the semi-final and those two schools meet in Mallow at the same time today.

The forecast is good for games today with some overnight cold expected to have cleared in time for throw in this afternoon.
