Tipperary jockey Rachael Blackmore rides in four races today at the Cheltenham Festival

Tipperary jockey Rachael Blackmore has four mounts at Cheltenham today

Day one of the Cheltenham Racing Festival is about to get underway in the next few hours and star jockey Rachael Blackmore is sure to feature at the business end of the races. The Killenaule jockey is in the saddle for four races today which is day one of this year’s Festival across the sea.

The jockey riding out of the Henry de Bromhead stables is onboard the 5/1 shot ‘Slade Steel’ in the days opening race with goes to post at 1.30pm and she will push hard to feature in the top three there.

Following that there is a quick turnaround as at 2.10pm, she will mount ‘Quilixious’ which is currently 8/1 followed by ‘Eklat De Rire’ at 18/1 then in the Handicap Chase which is set to get underway at 2.50pm.

Following that ‘Telmesomethinggirl’ goes in the Mares Hurdle at 4.10pm. The Tipperary jockey is sure to be heavily backed all day but she doesn't ride in the Champion Hurdle which is the big feature race that gets underway at 3.30pm.

Across the festival the Irish horses are tipped to shine with Willie Mullins in particular bringing his horses in fine fettle. He trains the heavily backed favourite ‘State Man’ in the big race which is currently at 4/11 odds.
