GAA championship preview night to be attended by four hurling legends in Thurles

On Saturday evening next, April 13th at 7.30 pm, Seán Treacys GAA Club are hosting a hurling championship preview evening with John Mullane, Eddie Brennan, Ciarán Carey, and Séamie Callanan, at the Dome, Thurles.

It promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment with All-Ireland hurling final tickets up for grabs. Tickets for this event can be purchased online at www.gr8events.ie, from Seán Treacy’s GAA club committee members, or at the door, on Saturday, April 13th (the Dome).

Eddie Brennan played for the Kilkenny senior team for twelve seasons from 2000 until 2011, winning eight All-Ireland medals, eleven Leinster medals, and five National Hurling League medals.

Brennan was also the Laois senior hurling team manager from 2019 to 2020. Known for his goal-scoring prowess, he earned four All-Star Awards and was recognized as one of the greatest players of his era.

Ciarán Carey had an illustrious playing career primarily in the centre-back position. he represented Limerick from 1989 to 2004, earning two Munster titles, two National Hurling League titles, and three All-Star awards.

His club career spanned over two decades with Patrickswell, where he won nine Limerick titles and two Munster titles. John Mullane played as a right corner-forward for the Waterford senior team from 2001 to 2012. During his career, Mullane won four Munster winners’ medals, one National League winners’ medal, and five All-Star awards.

Although he never won the All-Ireland title, his record of five All-Stars is a testament to his skill and impact on the game. Mullane’s passionate performances have earned him the reputation of being one of the best players to come out of Waterford, and he is widely regarded as a legend in the hurling community.

Finally, Séamie Callanan, who captained the Tipperary team that won the All-Ireland Championship in 2019, his accolades include three All-Ireland Championships, six Munster Championships, one National League, and four All-Star awards in a glittering career.

Callanan’s contributions to hurling have made him one of the sport’s standout players of his generation and won Hurler of the Year in 2019.
