Clonmore’s Noel Joyce claimed his 7th Munster Senior Scor Recitation title in Newport on Saturday last when his own composition “ For the Pride of the Parish” landed him the Gold medal.
Noel will now fly the flag for JK Brackens and Tipperary in the All-Ireland final at the NEC in Killarney on the 11th of May as he goes in search of his 5th All-Ireland medal.
Noel was also on the Novelty Act team along with John Maher, Margo O’Shea, Eileen Nolan and Martin Lee who were very unlucky not to go through following a great performance representing JK Brackens.
At the event Clann na nGael and Cullen won titles for Cork, Crecora and Banogue for Limerick, Churchill and Spa for Kerry while Gaultier ensured Waterford won a title and J K Brackens took honours for the Premier County.
Chairman of Munster GAA Council, Ger Ryan was in attendance to present the provincial silverware along with Cathaoirleach Coiste Scór na Mumhan, Mairéad Uí Fhaoláin.
