Tipperary councillor issues plea to the public to report illegal dumping in rural areas

Cllr Goldsboro issued her plea for help from the public to combat illegal dumping after discovering over 60 tyres dumped on the side of the road at Mohubber

A Tipperary county councillor has hit out at the rising number of illegal dumping on country roads.
Cllr Imelda Goldsboro made her comments after highlighting the unsightly dumping of tyres on a road in the Mohubber area.

“I was contacted by numerous residents about the dumping of the tyres. There was over 60 tyres dumped on the side of the road along with other kinds of waste,” said Cllr Goldsboro.

She said the illegal dumping took place between 9pm and 1am and she called on anybody with information about the dumping to contact local councillors, Tipperary County Council or the gardaí.
“It cost the council a significant amount of money to remove the tyres. This dumping is taking place in rural areas. If people see this type of activity taking place they should report it,” said Cllr Goldsboro.
