Sports books available locally are manifold this Christmas.
There are a number of top quality sports books on offer this Christmas with plenty of choice for lovers of all sports with a strong number of GAA books on offer.
Locally in Tipperary hurling books are always bestsellers and this year the choice is manifold with the new 'Tipperary - Land of Blue and Gold' hurling book published by Hero Books recently released by Stephen Gleeson available now.
'The Botheen Men' by Will Ryan looks at the story of gaelic games in Clonoulty Rossmore, was also released this month and is available in many shops.
Another local GAA book is 'The hay was saved but..' by Tommy Treacy and 'Pat Stakelum - legend of the ash' by Noel Dundon which are also available in Thurles and Nenagh bookshops.
'The Racket' by Conor Niland from Penguin is one for those into tennis this Christmas and tells the story of a player on the circuit outside of the elite on the tour.
Former hurlers Joe Canning and Richie Hogan have books released by Gill in time for Christmas and both follow the career of the All-Ireland medalists over their careers.
Racing books always have a readership and 'Davy Russell - My Autobiography' is available now detailing the career of the jockey and how he always gave his all.
Recently retired Johnny Sexton also takes a look back at his career and wonders what the future holds in his entitled 'Obsessed' focusing on his dedication to his sport.
Internationally 'Viva Columbia' by Mark Biram is an interesting book tracking the story of Columbian football which is always colourful and full of drama.
'Munichs' is one worth considering too. David Peace wrote the book reflecting on Britain and the effect sport had on the UK over the decades since the Second World War in particular.
