A new episode of the Everyday Is a School Day podcast features a fascinating interview with Dan Quirke.
Dan speaks to the interviewers about his son Dillon Quirke, who tragically passed away suddenly while playing the sport he loved. Dillon’s passing was caused by Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS), a condition that can often go undetected without proper screening.
In his memory, the Dillon Quirke Foundation was established to raise awareness and fund life-saving cardiac screening for young athletes. By supporting the foundation, you can help prevent similar tragedies and save lives.
This episode is sponsored by Stakelums, a family-run Irish business committed to helping you achieve a healthy work-life balance through work, learn, and play.
The episode was first broadcast on Monday, March 3 when Dan was presented with a High School senior GAA jersey which has the Dillon Quirke Foundation logo on it.
The jerseys were kindly sponsored by PHP Kilsheelan last year.
"We also sold these jerseys in school, and all proceeds went to the Dillon Quirke Foundation," said Paddy O'Gorman, High School teacher and one of the founders of the Everyday Is a School Day podcast.
