Anticipation is at fever pitch ahead of this weekend's Dr Harty Cup semi-final after tickets for the clash between Thurles CBS and Nenagh CBS sold out this morning, less than three days after going on general sale.

Munster PPS GAA confirmed that an allocation of just 2,000 tickets was made available for the game, which takes place in Templederry on Saturday at 12.30pm.

The capped figure has left many supporters frustrated, having failed to get a ticket in time for the game, with only a limited number of juvenile tickets left to purchase online.

The speed of the sell-out underlines the stature of the fixture, with two of Tipperary's most storied schools - and the previous two winners - set to renew a fierce rivalry on a knockout stage.

Throw-in on Saturday now carries even greater significance, with a place in the Dr Harty Cup final on the line and a sold-out crowd ready to set the stage.
