Tipperary school raises awareness of mental health

Tipperary sports legend Alan Quinlan helped to raise the Amber Flag at Scoil Ruain

On Friday, October 27, Scoil Ruain raised it's first Amber Flag in recognition of the school's promotion of Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Raising the Amber Flag just before embarking on our 5KM walk gave a wonderful sense of community and togetherness.

The school community, led by the Wellbeing Team became involved in various wellbeing initiatives throughout the school year. Some of these initiatives included 'The Little Things' poster campaign, the introduction of our first 'Wellness Wall', student meditation and a very enjoyable Mental Health Awareness Day.

Various visits made to the school helped students understand the importance of looking after their mental health and being mindful of their friends and fellow students. Visitors included Teenline, Barnardos, Tipperary Sports Partnership, Bodywhys and Youthwork Tipperary.
