RENOWNED footballer Gareth Bale has traded in his boots for a set of clubs, as he tours links popular with Irish golf-enthusiasts.

The sportsman, who made a name for himself on the football field with his exceptional skills and memorable goals, is also a keen golfer off the pitch, even playing with some of the world's finest, including, Jon Rahm.

Travelling with a group from Carr Golf, who host global golf players and organise days at world-class golf courses, Adare, renowned for its immaculate golf facilities, was an obvious stop off as part of his trip.

Posing for a photo with Hugh Murphy, General Manager of the Dunraven Arms Hotel, a member of the hotel's group posted to social media: "Delighted to welcome Gareth Bale and his golf group to stay with us last night."
