Skeletal remains have been found by gardaí investigating the disappearance of 45-year-old Tina Satchwell at the home where she lived in Youghal, Co Cork.

The remains have not been identified but it is understood that gardaí are satisfied they are human remains.

The search has been ongoing at the house for three days.

It is understood that the State Pathologist is due to arrive at the scene.

The remains are understood to have been discovered inside the property following a search of it by a cadaver dog.

According to RTÉ News, the bones were discovered during a search of the site yesterday evening.

A search has been underway at a property at a residence on Grattan Street in Youghal, Co. Cork for a number of days.

Members of the Garda Technical Bureau and a local divisional search team have been examining the property since Tuesday evening.

The search there followed the arrest of a man on suspicion of the murder of Ms Satchwell.

The male, in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and detained pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Cork County. He was later released without charge.

Gardaí continue to appeal for any person who may have information relevant to the investigation to contact Midleton Garda Station on (021) 462 1550, the Garda Confidential Line on (1800) 666111 or any Garda Station.
