Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic crash involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred overnight in Cork.
The accident happened at approximately 1.30am on Sunday April 7, 2024 on the N25 Eastbound at Water-Rock in Midleton, County Cork.
The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other serious injuries to people were reported, a garda spokesperson confirmed.
The road is currently closed and the services of Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage - including dash-cam - and were travelling on the N25 Eastbound between 1.15am and 1.30am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
