Less Irish people are getting married each year, new statistics have shown.
Just 21,159 people wed in Ireland last year - a drop of over 9% compared to that of 2022.
Of those, 20,513 were opposite-sex marriages while 324 were male same-sex marriages and 322 were female same-sex marriages.
Church ceremonies still remain the norm, with 7,256 (35%) people opting for Roman Catholic Ceremonies.
As well as this, the average ages of newly-weds tying the knot have been revealed. The average age of hetreosexual men getting married is 37 while women are younger at 35.
The ages of those getting married to the same sex is a little higher, with men choosing to marry at 40 and women , 38.
The most popular day to wed is Friday (not the 13th!) and the most popular month to get married in Ireland is August.
