Gardaí urge people who filmed horror dog attack to stop sharing footage 'out of respect'

Gardaí are urging people who filmed a fatal dog attack in Limerick to stop sharing footage "out of respect" for the victim.

According to An Garda Síochána, footage of the horror attack - which occurred last night (Tuesday June 4) at a house in Ballyneety - is currently in circulation.

In an appeal issued this afternoon, a Garda spokesperson stated, "Out of respect for the deceased, her family and all her loved ones we are requesting that this footage is not shared on social media and/or messaging apps and that if received, you do not reshare."

At approximately 11.40pm last night, Gardaí received a report and responded to an incident where the 23 year old woman - named locally as Nicole Morey - was found severely injured.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene but tragically succumbed to her injuries.

According to Gardaí, ondog was destroyed and three other dogs were restrained by Gardaí.

The body of the lady was taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem is believed to have taken place today.

An investigation is underway by Gardaí from Roxboro Road Garda Station.
