A man in his 50s has died following a tragic road traffic incident in Dublin.
The fatal road traffic collision occurred in Dublin city centre on Friday afternoon, and involved the pedestrian and a lorry
Shortly after 3pm, Gardaí and emergency services were rushed to the scene of the incident at the junction of Arran Quay and Church Street.
The pedestrian, a male in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The road is currently closed, and traffic diversions are in place as Gardaí conduct a technical examination of the scene.
In a statement, Gardaí urged witnesses of the collision to come forward.
"The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination," a Garda spokesperson said.
"Anyone with mobile phone footage or dash-cam recordings from the area at the time is requested to share this footage with the investigating Gardaí".
