Canada issues very unusual warning to its citizens planning to visit Ireland

A bizarre warning has been issued by the Canadian Government over residents that are hoping to travel to Ireland.

The warning by the Canadian Government, strangely enough, is titled a "Romance Scam" and warns against catfishing and fraud when coming to Ireland.

The warning was released on the Canadian Government's website on the 18th of February and reads as follows:

"If you’re travelling to Ireland to meet someone you’ve otherwise only met online, you may be the victim of a scam. Be wary of attempts at fraud by persons who profess friendship or romantic interest over the internet."

Along with the romance scam, the Canadian Government has also advised against "Demonstrations" and "strikes" citing the "Violent demonstrations occurred in Dublin in November 2023 and led to acts of vandalism, arson, and clashes between demonstrators and police."

Additionally, they have advised their residents to "avoid showing signs of affluence or wearing expensive jewellery" and that there is a "threat of terrorism in Europe. Terrorists have carried out attacks in several European cities. Terrorist attacks could occur at any time."

Definitely not making Ireland seem like a great tourist destination for the time being.
