A man’s body has been recovered after a car was discovered in a river in Co Cork.
Gardai said they were alerted to a car in the water of the River Bride close to the Conna Road, R628, shortly before 10am on Saturday.
“The male driver and sole occupant, aged in his 30s, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” a spokesperson said.
“The male’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
“Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.”
