Tipperary Gardai probe alleged assault by driver on stop / go sign worker

The Gardaí in Nenagh are investigating an incident in which a member of a road repair crew who was operating a stop-and-go sign was allegedly assaulted by a motorist in the town on Thursday of last week.

The incident is reported to have occurred on the Borrisokane Road at 10am.

A suspect was subsequently arrested and questioned and a file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Meawhile, a female Garda stationed in Nenagh was allegely assaulted when she was dealing with reports of a disturbance on a bus that arrived in Kickham Street in the town at 10pm on Thursday last.

A female was arrested and a male was also arrested for a suspected breach of public order arising from the same incident.
