Aldi Opening

Aldi Opening

The impending opening of Aldi in Tipperary was welcomed at the October meeting of the local Town Council.

Enquiring when the store will officially open the members were told that November 10th was the date scheduled. Cllr. Jacqui Finnan welccomed the news and complimented the owners on their work to date stating that it had hugely improved the streetscape and the appearance of the town. Welcoming this development she said that she hoped that it would bring people back into the centre of the town.

Mayor Cllr. Anna Touhy Halligan also welcomed this news and also the fact that they had begun to recruit staff locally was also a welcome development.

Galtee Walking Club

Hurricane Jude seemed to give us a miss on Sunday allowing the C group of 20 to enjoy a glorious, sunny riverside walk in Cahir, taking in the old Quaker graveyard in Kilcommon. Further east the B walkers also enjoyed similar favourable conditions on a lovely woodland trek around Kilsheelan Woods, a cautious alternative to the higher grounds originally planned by David. Great to catch the light as the days draw in. A reminder to members that the club year starts now so subscriptions are due and for new members, joining now gives you a whole years worth of walks! See our website for details and forms.

Next week’s walks November 3: The A walk meets with Cliona Tuohy at Clydagh Bridge at 10am. Kilcoran Lodge Hotel is the meeting point for the B and C walks. Both assembling at 1030, Anthony O’Brien will lead the B walk and Thos O’Neill the C group.
