Three houses and 13 plots of land in the Cahir area that were bought for the construction of the M8 motorway are to be leased or sold by South Tipp County Council.

At last week’s council meeting Cahir’s Cllr Seanie Lonergan asked for an update on the small parcels of land the council bought but are not being used following completion of the motorway.

South Tipperary County Council has identified 13 plots of land and three houses for sale that are surplus to requirements following construction of the motorway. The plots are to be leased and the houses are for sale.

These plots of land/houses were forwarded to Martin & Associates Estate Agents for disposal/lease and advertised in October 2012. Reasonable progress has been made and agreements for five plots are expected to be approved at the council’s September meeting.
