Grants, cross border trade incentives, mentoring and enterprise supports are all at the top of the agenda at the ‘Who to talk to’ Expo today Wednesday in Tipperary.
Geared at small business owners and those wanting to start a business for the first time, organisers behind the free event are hoping to attract over 300 entrepreneurs on the evening.
Importantly, representatives from seven state agencies will be outlining the range of grants and supports currently available for enterprise and job creation in the region. These include grants available around exports, cross border trade, research and development, micro-enterprise, rural development and tourism. The innovative scheme recently launched by the Local Authority pertaining to a reduction in planning and development levies will also be explained.
In addition to the ‘Supports’ seminars, there are also workshops dedicated to tax breaks, internships, ConnectIreland and advice clinics on offer, all of which are completely free of charge.
Co-ordinated by the North Tipperary County Development Board in collaboration with various state and community support organisations, the landmark event is being staged at the County Council Civic Offices in Nenagh and runs from 4pm to 8pm.
In all, forty state support agencies, educational bodies, business organisations, financial institutions and Chambers will all be meeting visitors in the exhibition space, offering information, guidance and advice. Confidential one-to-one meetings can also be scheduled during the event.
Rita Guinan, CEO of the Tipperary North County Enterprise Board, is one of the speakers at the event. She explained: “The most common query we receive from new start-ups and those already in business, is around the whole area of grants and financial assistance. Through the ‘Supports’ seminars, the relevant state agencies are being given an opportunity to highlight all the grants and supports available to SMEs for enterprise and job creation.”
The ‘Supports’ Seminar will be chaired by Joe McGrath, the County Manager with North Tipperary County Council and will take place at 6.30pm on May 30th inside the new County Council buildings in Nenagh. Further information around “Who to talk to” is available from www.tipperary.com.
The Expo is organised by the North Tipperary County Development Board and supported by Tipperary North County Enterprise Board, Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development, North Tipperary Leader Partnership, IDA, North Tipperary VEC, Limerick Institute of Technology, FAS and the Department of Social Protection
