The installation of natural gas to Nenagh will be “extremely disruptive but very beneficial”, Nenagh Municipal District councillors were told.
Director of operations Marcus O’Connor told the September meeting that Bord Gais had signed the contract to supply gas to Arrabawn Co-op and the factory should be connected before next summer.
The contactors hoped to start work on the Limerick road feeder mains in the next couple of months.
He told Cllr John Carroll that most of the pipe work will be in the hard shoulder along the N7.
Cllr Hughie McGrath asked if using the railway line for the pipe had been explored to prevent having to dig up the town.
