A new business group has started in Tipperary whose aim is to improve the quality of life of older people and people with disabilities, whatever their age.
Six Tipperary companies and services have come together to share a platform of products and services that improve people’s safety and happiness. The new business group was founded in Cashel and is called the “Enable Independence Group.” The Group is launching itself during Positive Ageing Week, as the aim of all six Tipperary companies is to support independent living.
The six companies offer different products and services that help people stay independent in their own homes. The businesses include ‘Adapted Living’ who supply and fit stair lifts, and provide products such as recliners and mobility products; ‘HideAwayZ’ who supply products such as clothes lines and planterboxes that are accessible for people using a wheelchair, ‘Home Instead Senior Care’ who provide care in the home services such as meal preparation, personal care or overnight care, ‘Task Community Care’ who provide personal alarms and telecare services, ‘Tipptoes’ who provide footcare and footwear and the proper biomechanical fitting of footwear, hosiery, compression products and armcare services and finally ‘Wrapsies’ who provide practical, comfortable dignitywear as an alternative to towels.
The more thought that people put into planning how to stay well and happy as they age, and how they would cope in the event of illness or disability, the better outcomes people will have as they age. All the members of the Enable Independence Group are happy to talk to members of the public about what steps people need to take to achieve this.
