Events from the previous year were reported on.
Most recently, students from Templemore College of Education (formerly St Sheelan’s) completed a very successful and valuable work experience in France.
Unfortunately there were not enough numbers this year for a second exchange.
In March Templemore welcomed visitors from both Premilhat and Potenza Picena for St. Patrick’s Day.
Some months earlier Templemore Soccer Team had a very enjoyable trip to France where both French and Irish participants enjoyed the sporting and social events.
In June of 2011 a group of 20 travelled from Templemore to Italy to participate in “The Twinned Town Cup” golf competition. A marvellous time was had by all with the Italians being the victors on that occasion. 2013 will see France host the next competition.
Throughout the year visitors from both our twinned towns have holidayed in Templemore and its environs, bringing a welcome boost to both the local and national economy. People from Templemore have also travelled to France and Italy independently and have given feedback to the association of very enjoyable trips.

The association would like to extend an invitation to all the other clubs and associations in the Templemore and surrounding areas to send a representative to join the association. The same welcome is extended to any person in the local community who would have an interest.
The association would also like to make it known that trips to our Twinned Towns are open to all, not just the town and parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea but to the surrounding towns and wider areas.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd August at 8.30pm in the Town Hall.
