Cloughjordan village has won the Airtricity Green Community Award at the prestigious 2012 Green Awards which took place in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin.
The North Tipperary village has won the Airtricity Green Community Award for its inspiring green initiatives. Building on its rich heritage as an eco village, Cloughjordan is rapidly becoming a leading example of how a community can come together to begin to establish the systems and implement technologies that will ensure it plays its part in climate adaptation, biodiversity enhancement, and developing a local and green economy.
Receiving the award for the Airtricity Green Community at the awards ceremony John Harrington, collecting on behalf of Cloughjordan Village commented, “I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of our community, everyone involved has worked hard to ensure our village maintains and grows its eco village reputation.”
