Tipperary Fine Gael TD Noel Coonan has welcomed the announcement of 100 jobs in Fethard by food company Ribworld.
Deputy Coonan said: “My colleague Jobs Minister Richard Bruton officially opened Ribworld’s new facility at Fethard this Monday. The €8m investment is supported by the Department of Jobs through Enterprise Ireland and it is major boost for the area.
“Ribworld is expanding its operational capacity and meeting increasing demand for their products across Europe and international markets. This announcement will bring Ribworld’s employment levels to over 175 people over the next three years.
“This is an indication of our improving economy which is filtering down to our rural communities. Food production, based on a strong agricultural industry, is the obvious way forward.
“Creating employment is one of the Government’s top priorities and Ribworld’s investment programme in Fethard was supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland. We are determined, through our Action Plan for Jobs, to continue to stimulate job creation in Tipperary and continue to support our indigenous businesses,” said Deputy Coonan.
