A major power cut in Thurles town disrupted business and commerce for almost 20 minutes this morning with the town griding to a halt.
Dark shops and the silence of cash registers greeted customers at approximately 12:15 when the town fell silent, save for the sound of traffic, in and around Liberty Square and it’s feeder streets.
Many businesses closed their doors while the outage continued, but the power was restored relatively quickly and business commenced as usual from then onwards.
