Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men in Ireland after skin cancer. Each year 3,300 men are diagnosed with prostrate cancer. This November Thurles Lions club members and friends will be promoting men’s health throughout the month by taking part in the “Movember” project where men grow moustaches / beards to promote awareness. The shave off will take place at the end of the month. Why not visit your GP and get yourself checked. Pictured are a selection of men taking part in the campaign: Kevin Barry, Eamon Medley, All Ireland Winner Cathal Barrett, Ann Marie Brophy, President of Thurles Lions Club, and Adrian Purcell. Back: Frankie Shanahan, David Green, Pat McCoole, Pat Strapp, Pat Hayes, Aidan Loughnane and Gary Roche who is organising the event.
