Free parking will be available to the public again this year in Clonmel and Cahir every Saturday from 10am during December, says local councillor Martin Lonergan.
Locations in Clonmel include Abbey Street (Friary), Mary Street, Gordon Place, Mick Delahunty Square, Kickham Street, Quay Street, Lower Irishtown (Westgate), Suirside (off Old Waterford Road), County Council Car Park and Suir Island, while the Castle Car Park in Cahir will also offer free parking in the run up to Christmas.
“As with previous years this move in the run up to Christmas has been extremely beneficial to the local economy with positive feedback from retailers and customers,” Cllr. Lonergan says.
“It is extremely important that we continue to encourage people to support local businesses in Clonmel and Cahir,” he adds.
It should be noted that parking charges will continue to apply for on-street parking on these dates in both towns.
