The James Kilbane concert in Thurles has been postponed until next Friday.
Concert has been put back to next Friday evening in Bohernanave Church
Thurles parish has confirmed that the James Kilbane concert due to go ahead in Bohernanave Church, Thurles on Sunday evening has been postponed until next Friday evening, due to the weather alert.
The concert, a fundraiser with proceeds to go towards the continued maintenance of parish facilities, is very eagerly awaited in Thurles with many tickets having been sold for the event. And, organisers say that the event will now go ahead on Friday evening next instead.
James Kilbane is regarded as being very popular and his proposed visit to Thurles caused great excitement amongst parishioners. However, they will have to wait for another few days before they get to see him perform live.
Morning Masses have been cancelled in Thurles parish also during the weather alert, while a number of funeral Masses were deferred, following consultation with the families of the bereaved.
Any further information required on the events and ceremonies in the parish will be available at the Parish Office and on the website.
