The shop at Holycross Abbey
The shop situated in the heart of the Abbey is a big attraction for pilgrims and has been transformed.
Holycross Abbey is preparing to welcome thousands of pilgrims for the Annual Novena to Our lady of Perpetual Help, which starts on Saturday morning at 7:00am.
And, visitors will be very impressed with the recently refurbished Abbey Shop which is now a modern bustling hub of activity, set amid the tranquility of the ancient Abbey.
Work has been ongoing for a number of months in the shop to make it more accessible and easier for customers to browse and have a look at the many much sought after items which are in stock. There is always demand for books, prayers and religious objects, which are usually blessed on the final day of the nine days of devotion, as well as Mass cards which available in the shop in in the parish centre, opposite the Abbey.

Under the watchful eye of Parish Priest, Rev Fr Celsus Tierney, local tradesmen transformed the shop and were determined to have it all completed in time for the influx of visitors - there has been a very strong tourist presence in Holycross Abbey throughout the summer with many coming to view the relic of the True Cross. Tours of the Abbey have also been in big demand during the summer and continue right throughout the year - for anyone who has not been on the tour, it is certainly worth catching one.
