Clonmel swimmers making a splash

Clonmel Swimmers are really busy over the next six weeks with plenty of galas coming up at Munster Graded level as well at the Irish Senior Schools Championships this weekend coming. We would like to take this opportunity of wishing our Swimmers good luck for their events. Please check the website calendar on the noticeboard page at for dates and details.

On recent galas we sent a small group of Club swimmers to the Gerry Ryan Long Course Swimming Gala at University of Limerick at the weekend.

They did their Club proud, achieving 38 PBs and contesting a huge amount of finals between them which resulted in bringing home four medals.

This was a fantastic achievement and it was tough competition with 37 other clubs from around Ireland taking part including those looking for their 2012 Olympic qualification times. Keep up the great work and special thanks to their Chaperones both days.

Our five Club swimmers who took part in the Irish Minor Schools Championships recently also put in great performances to do their Schools and the Club proud.

Aibhinn Fanning, Conor McLoghlin and Sarah Ni Cheallaigh were competing for the second year in a row in the Irish Schools National Competetion. Also these 3 swimmers have competed very well in the last two years in the National Community Games Finals.
