Elaine scores equalising goal - and gets engaged

Tipp Town hockey club have upgraded this year to Division 2, a major step up from last year but the girls are doing well.

They started off the season playing against Church of Ireland and lost 4-1, then played Harlequins in Rockwell pitch and lost 2-0.

Last Sunday they played against Catholic Institute on their home turf.

Tipp Town were losing by a goal most of the game but Elaine Bannon blasted in a goal from a short corner in last few seconds of the match. These are strong competitors and Tipp hockey is improving with every match.

They also have a 6th division team this year who are doing very well and triumphed against Church of Ireland 4-2. They are very proud of the girls doing so well in their first game of the year and hope the rest of the season will go as well.

The team is very poor at the moment and are holding a table quiz (and there will be spot prizes) on the bank holiday weekend and everyone and anyone is welcome and they would really appreciate the support. time and place is yet to be decided, please keep a watch out on our facebook page and posters will be displayed soon in the local area.

The club would also like to congratulate team member Elaine Bannon and her lucky hubby John Burke on their engagement, delighted for you both.
