Castleview open is reaching its final stages with a number of front runners in from Hillview. Cora Morrisey came through to win her G6 singles and R/U with Eugene Cooney in Mxd. Others also have made it to the final stages

Winter league?

It may feel like we are just out of summer but Club Winter league time is only up the road. Recruitment for this final competition of the season will commence shortly and we hoped to run it over October/November. This is a must enter competition to help you fly throught the winter months.

Plenty of opportunities for juniors to receive coaching from many of the club coaches during the week or over the weekends- see club boards for info.

Pitch and Putt

On Sunday last we had another great turnout for our scramble. Nett Winners, John Fitzgerald, Joan Donlan and Phyllis McCabe with 59 1/3. Nett Runners-up, Nora Whelan, Ann Wall, Evelyn Cahill and Breda Howell with 60. Gross Winners, Michael Kennedy, Mattie Anglim and Kathleen Foran with 68. Next scramble on Sunday at 5.00pm.

The annual Pitch and Putt outing will take place on Saturday, October 12 to Fermoy, Co. Cork. Entry sheet for names will be on the

club notice board in the hallway.

The Presidents Prize will take place on Sunday, October 27.

On Saturday Lorraine Creed and Pauline Lucey represented Hillview in the Ladies National Seniors Intermediate Strokeplay in Erry, Co. Offaly. After the first 36 holes there were 3 Ladies tied on a score of 114, Breda O’Donnell, Cunnigar, Mary Sherry, St Bridgets and Pauline . A 9 hole playoff was now the order of the day. Pauline got off to a bad start by taking a 5 on the first hole but battled away and at the end of the playoff was beaten by one shot by Mary Sherry.
