PBs at Indoor event

The AAI Games took place on the magnificent new Indoor facility at Athlone Institute last Sunday. This is a top class international facility and will be of immense value to Athletes in Ireland in the months and year ahead as we now have a facility for athletes so there can be no excuses for athletes at not being able to produce world class performances in such a world class facility. Indeed it was great to see a number of our athletes take full advantage of this facility to produce top class performances.

In the 800m William Maunsell ran very well when finishing 7th in a PB of 1 min 56.30 secs, brilliant running to break the 2 minutes for 800m. Then we had Kevin Maunsell running in the 3000m and he also produced a brilliant performance, also a PB, when finishing 5th in 8 mins 27.84 secs with Niall McCormack finishing in 8 mins 48 secs. In the 1500m Sean Tobin ran well when finishing in 3 mins 49.43 secs, edged out close to the line by former Club member Thomas Chamney who ran 3 mins 48.85 secs, great to see Thomas back competing again. In the Ladies 400m Roisin Cleary ran very well when winning her race in 60.89 secs. In the Women 3000m we also had two very good performances from Aoife Laste 11 misn 21 secs and Laura Tobin 11 mins 27 secs.
