Despite the unpromising weather Matt Joy and Winnie Flynn led two fine walks on Sunday last for 26 participants. Matt found a new-to-everybody route to Galtymore summit which proved ideal practice for those heading on our winter climbing trip to Scotland next week, while Winnie led the Ballydavid circuit.

No walk from Cashel next weekend as all roads lead to Upperchurch for a series of sponsored hillwalks that support the Cents2help charity. These walks are leaving from Upperchurch village on Sunday Feb 13th at 12.30pm. They are being organised by our own Joan Quinn for Two-Mile-Borris schoolteacher, James Hayden who is one of the main movers behind this charity which helps children who have been orphaned because of AIDS in Cape Town. All monies collected will go directly to Cents2help with refreshments after the walks being sponsored by local businesses. There will be three walks over 6, 10 and 14 kms to suit every level of fitness and all are welcome. Sponsorship cards are available by phoning Joan Quinn at 086 3577340.
