We had 17 runners at Combaun on Saturday morning, We were lucky as it we were very sheltered in the woods from the rain and wind. We had people of all standards and one man who ran his first ever 4 mile run without having to stop. We had our usual refreshments afterwards and were just in our cars before it began to spill rain.
Our next Trail run will be on the Ballyhouras on Saturday 20th Feb at 10am reg from 9am the route starts from the cycle centre on the Ballyhouras and will be approximately 5km on trails and single tracks. Please bring trail running shoes on the day as the route may be slippery and it is better to be safe than sorry. I will put a map of the route up on our web page (Ballyhouraactive.com) and on the Facebook page. Remember these are for people of all standards and we will have a sweeper in place on the day. There is a fixed charge of €5 euro to use the Coillte car park so I advise that you car Poole up here with a friend the car park is safe and monitored. But is also limited insize. We would advise that if you are coming to this event that you use it as we cannot Guarantee the safety of your car on the public road.
This is the time of year when you should look at that goal you set yourself over the Christmas holidays. The one where you were going to go for a walk ,Cycle or swim each day or a run three times a week or perhaps your target was that five km run in the park in a month’s time. Have you moved on is it raining this morning and you said to hell with it I’ll start tomorrow when it’s drier, this is Ireland you have to get out there expect rain expect bad weather wear your Hi-Vis and Jacket and let’s get in shape and loose that bit of weight that you promised yourself you were going to shift, don’t let it get the better of you. Join your local club couch to 5km or that local operation transformation it doesn’t matter if you missed a few weeks they will be glad to see you.
Remember the Ballyhoura Active series is on the way soon so keep checking the Ballyhouraactive website and our facebook pages.
