Fifth Green flag for Scoil Eoin Naofa, Roscrea

After being awarded and raising our fifth green flag for Biodiversity in May, the new Scoil Eoin Green School committee is now back up and ready for action to get our next green flag, for Global Citizenship, Litter and Waste.

This flag is all about looking at how we are interconnected globally – people, resources, food and how we look after our planet. It also revisits the first flag of Litter and Waste.

To mark the beginning of this journey, the junior infants planted a tree to show even the youngest in our school community can make a difference to our world.

It has been a sport filled October for the senior classes in Scoil Eoin.

Our Gaelic football teams – Under 11 and Under 13, boys and girls all participated in the Cumann na mBunscoil competitions. Our Under 11 girls’ team were very unlucky not to progress further, missing out by the narrowest of margins to Gaelscoil Nenagh.

Pupils from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes also took part in soccer and rugby fun blitzes in Ballymacky and Roscrea.

All involved really enjoyed taking part and trying out a new sport.
