Irish rugby player Bundee Aki granted Irish citizenship
Irish rugby player Bundee Aki has officially been granted Irish citizenship.
The New Zealand native, Aki, today joined 3,600 people who have also become citizens of Ireland during ceremonies at Dublin's Convention Centre.
Aki has lived in Ireland for ten years and upon gaining citizenship he expressed his love for the Irish people and culture. He said: "I've enjoyed my time here in Ireland. I've embraced the people and the people have embraced me and my family as well."

He added: "I'm going to enjoy this moment and cherish it."
In today's ceremony, Aki joined people from almost 150 countries who have chosen Ireland to be their home.
During the ceremony at the Convention Centre, Minister for Justice Helen McEntee thanked those in attendance for choosing Ireland and promised that they will always have a home here.
Ms McEntee said that Ireland is a place where they are accepted, valued and cherished and where she said they will be safe and loved.
