Division 4

Ballyneale came from behind to bring League Division 4 leaders St. Kieran’s 100% record to an end and in the process closed the gap to two points in this top of the table clash at Ballydine last Sunday.

In the only game scheduled for this Division it saw Ballyneale take the game to St. Kieran’s from the kick-off with the visitors goalkeeper producing a string of saves. However, it was against the run of play that St. Kieran’s broke the deadlock on 32 minutes. A long clearance caught the Ballyneale players flatfooted allowing Tony O’Donoghue the time and space to score.

The half-time introduction of David Morton proved inspirational as he supplied the finish from a corner-kick on 50 minutes to bring Ballyneale level. Ballyneale completed the recovery when another ball over the top on 65 minutes, this time catching out the St. Kieran’s players, giving Ger Crowley the time to beat the advancing ‘keeper and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
