Then it was Richie Ryan’s turn to complete his hat-trick to make it 6-0 the hour mark. Last minute extra-time goal breaks Cahir Park hearts

CAHIR PARK 0 (after extra-time)

It was heartache for a gallant Cahir Park, whose dream of Munster Junior Cup glory ended when a goal in the 110th minute of extra-time against Hibernians’ in Waterford city last Sunday.

In what was described as a typical cup-tie underdogs Cahir Park kept a Hibernians side that play in the top division in Waterford at bay throughout the ninety minutes looked like they might produce a major upset. Alas, it was to be; because with the game looking like it might go all the way to penalties a lack of concentration by Cahir Park from a free-kick in the final minute of extra-time saw Michael Gaffney score the goal that broke the TSDL’s giant-killers hearts.
