Cahir youths advance with victory over North Tipp team

FAI Youth Cup, 1st round

FAI Youth Cup, 1st round

Cahir Park 5 BT Harps (Temple more) 0

Cahir started very well with good attacking football from the off. Niall McKenna was pulling the strings in midfield and linking well with Dave Finnane. The first goal was a good move involving Liam Casey and Dave Finnane with a nice finish in the end from Casey.

With the pressure continuing to grow on the BT Harps defence, the Park were soon two up with a good finish from Darren McGrath. Darren soon added his second goal of the game and Cahir’s third. Just before half time Dave Finnane got his just reward for all his good play with a neat finish from the edge of the box. The Park went in at half time four nil up.

Black castle / Temple more started the second half the stronger team and only for some good defending and goalkeeping could have got on the score-sheet. With the game nearing the end Liam Casey got his second goal of the game after good work on the right from William Dunne. Final score Cahir Park 5 BT Harps 0.

The Club would like to wish Stephen Duggan a speedy recovery after breaking his leg against Clonmel Town last week. Stephen is regular on the Park youth team over the last number of seasons and was also breaking into the junior team. We all hope he will make a full recovery and hope it won’t be too long before he is back playing in the Park again.
