Ballyneale 2 Tipperary Town B 1
Ballyneale remain undefeated with promotion aspirations remaining intact after getting the better of a pointless Tipperary Town B by the odd goal in three in Ballydine last Sunday in the TSDL Division 4.
A much-improved Ballyneale side are at last showing signs of making an impact in the TSDL, but on this occasion had to rely on a penalty to break the deadlock when Robbie O’Brien was brought down after 20 minutes. Enda Fogarty made no mistake from the penalty spot.
After the changeover a dogged Tipperary Town Reserve side still looking for that opening victory – after points were deducted for using an illegal player against Kilbehenny Celtic – kept Ballyneale down to that single score until Marty O’Reilly showed some neat individual skill as he cut in from the right wing and scored at the second attempt on 75 minutes. Tipperary Town B did pull a goal back through David Hanrahan on 80 minutes, but it was just a consolation score as Ballyneale held on for victory.
Ballyneale are in joint third on 14 points with 8 games still to play. Tipperary Town B remains bottom of the league still pointless with 7 games to play.
