Carrick United 5 Kilmacow 2

Carrick took the lead with a superb strike from Francis Roche after 5 minutes. On 10 minutes Paudie O’Shea made it 2-0. Either side of half time Kilmacow scored two goals to tie up proceedings. Ten minutes into the second half Glen Power slotted the ball into the path of Reece O’Mahoney who slotted home. Francis Roche on the forty five minute made it 5-2. This was our best performance yet with all 14 players playing with such determination and commitment. Man of the Match was Francis Roche with brilliant goals but credit has to go to all who played in this fantastic display

Under 12 Girls League

Carrick United 3 Dungarvan 3

In a top of the table clash both teams came away with a point each. Carrick were more dominant in the first half and deserving of their 3-1 lead at half time. A hat trick by star forward Angela McGuigan ably assisted by Niamh Duggan who with great passing created the opportunities for Angela’s goal. Both Anna Walsh and Niamh O’Meara played very well in midfield and closed down any momentum that Dungarvan tried to create. Dungarvan who share top place with Carrick in the league came back with all guns blazing in the second half, creating many chances and they scored two very worthy goals to equalise. The final 5 minutes of the game saw both teams have chances to get that elusive winning goal. Well done to all girls on the panel and the effort they make every Thursday evening at training.

Under 15 SFAI Cup

St Michaels 1 Carrick United 6

Carrick made the trip to Tipperary Town on Saturday morning to face St Michaels. Cooke Park is a difficult venue for any team to get a result but Carrick had prepared well for this fixture. The long journey and the early start did not put them off as they started the game at a blistering pace. Within 15 mins Carrick had St Michaels on the ropes and found themselves 3-0 up. St Michaels rallied and only for some outstanding defending and goalkeeping Carrick would not have got to half time with a commanding lead.

The second half started brightly for Carrick and they played some fantastic football before as expected St Michaels began to get a grip of the game, during this period of the home team dominance Michaels scored what turned out to be their only goal. This was just the shot in the arm that Carrick needed and even a torrential downpour could not dampen their spirits as they pushed on and got two more great goals to run out deserved winners. Well done to all the players involved and a massive thank you to all the supporters that travelled, your support is greatly appreciated. Scorers were Luke Kiely(4), Brandon O’Sullivan (1) and Sam Grace(1).
