Clonmel Credit Union League Division 1

A goal five minutes from full-time saw Two Mile Borris secure three crucial Clonmel Credit Union League Division 1 points with a hard fought victory over Moyglass United at Newhill Park, Littleton last Sunday.

In what was the only game in this division, these two sides that are hovering around thewrong end of the table badly needed victory to put daylight between themselves and the drop zone. Two Mile Borris facing the possibility of facing relegation for a second successive season dominated the opening forty-five minutes, but their downfall has been their failure to find goals and it came as no surprise it was scoreless at the break.

Moyglass came out of their defensive shell after the changeover and Two Mile Borris had to rely on the heroics of their goalkeeper Gerry Treacy to secure the victory. Tracey produced a top class save diving full length to stop a Jamie Morrissey screamer from finding the net midway through the second half. Then after Two Mile Borris eventually broke the deadlock when Michael McCarthy set-up Anthony Healy for the winner, the home side had to again rely on another fantastic save from Treacy from Jamie Morrissey to secure all three points on offer.
