The Tony Ryan Fund for Tipperary, established by the Tony Ryan Trust, has awarded €73,400 to the Incredible Years Programme, which funds evidence-based initiatives that support children and young people to reach their potential.

The grant will allow for the roll out of the ‘Incredible Years Programme’ across primary schools and communities in South Tipperary for two years beginning immediately.

Incredible Years is a research based, proven, effective programme for increasing children’s social and emotional competence at home and at school.

It is delivered in two strands – in primary schools with teaching staff and in communities through the delivery of parenting programmes.

These parenting programmes will be delivered in local communities by agency personnel who will be specifically training through the Tony Ryan Fund in the Incredible Years Programme.

The initiative is well underway with training dates scheduled for November and December 2013.
