Holy Thursday promises to be one of the biggest days of the year at Clonmel Racecourse, when the The Hospice Go Racing Evening Meeting is held in aid of the Clonmel Hospice Support Group. And with the good weather set to continue it promises to be a great evening out, while helping a most worthy cause.
Sepam (Clonmel) will be sponsoring the feature race, the SEPAM Tipperary Perpetual Cup Handicap. Run over two miles, this is the most prestigious flat race run at the Powerstown Park venue each year and it attracts runners from all the top stables.
To support the local Hospice all you have to do is turn up on the day. Clonmel Racecourse will be making a substantial donation to the Clonmel Hospice Support Group out of each paid admission. Adult Admission is €15, OAP/Student Admission is €10 and Children aged 16 and under are always admitted for free to Clonmel Races. As it is an evening meeting, with the first race off at 5pm, it is hoped that there will be a huge turnout after work. Add in the fact that most people will not have to work on Good Friday and it really is the ideal way to kick-start the Easter break.
There will be music in the Club Stand Bar after racing and the racecourse are delighted to welcome their new catering company Masterchefs Hospitality to the track. Masterchefs bring with them a great reputation for quality food and already, after just three meetings, the feedback from customers has been fantastic.
