Tipperary 2-11 University of Limerick 0-12
Tipperary’s hurlers are through to the semi-finals of the Waterford Crystal Cup after they beat University of Limerick in the quarter-final at Nenagh on Saturday.
On a heavy pitch, and with rain falling until early into the second half, conditions were very testing for both teams. Goals from Pa Bourke’s free and Brian ‘Buggy’ O’Meara helped Tipp lead by 2-4 to no score after 17 minutes. However the students were back in the game at half-time, when they had halved that lead (2-4 to 0-5).
Boosted by the introudction of Eoin Kelly, Tipp came back into the game in the second half and deserved their win.
They now play Cork in the semi-final in Clonmel next Sunday.
