In the Juvenile team of six, Munster were represented by Tipperary in the All-Ireland Semi-Finals and Final in Mullingar.
The Tipperary players were well prepared for the Finals and they were up against Leinster Champions Kilkenny in the Semi-Final.
Jerome Cahill & Sean Hayes were first in. They won 15-2, 15-4. Second Tipperary pair of Colin Ryan & Sean McAdams played very well to win 15-6, 15-14. Last pair of James Prentice & John McGrath had no trouble winning 15-5, 15-5 to leave a total score 90-36. (Kilkenny Team : Conor Murphy, Robert Dowling, Aidan Barry, Ciaran Cooney, Eoin Regan, Eoin Brennan, Jack Barcoe, Conor Condon.
In the other semi-final Tyrone easily accounted for a young Leitrim team.
The All-Ireland final against Tyrone was not as intense with Tipperary in command from the outset winning on a scoreline of 85-35. Tipperary Team: Sean Hayes, Jerome Cahill, John McGrath, Sean McAdams (Lahorna) James Prentice (Ballina) Colin Ryan & Ross Bonner (Cashel).
All Ireland senior singles 60x30champion Westmeath’s Robert McCarthy who beat Eoin Kennedy in the Senior Final the day before was on hand to present the boys with their winning medals. Well done to the players & coaches on a great victory.
