Carrick Swan were beaten by Mullinahone in the South Senior Hurling Championship Final on Sunday evening in Clonmel.
It was a disappointing display from the Swan team and their opponents deserved the victory. Final score was 1-17 to 2-09 (see full match report in Nationalist Sport).
Mullinahone were on top from the start and many of the Swan players did not perform to their capabilities.
The Club congratulates Mullinahone and also wishes the Swan panel of players and team mentors the best of luck in the county championship.
Meanwhile, the junior hurlers were in championship and county league action last week. They had a convincing win over Ballylooby in the county league but lost to Ballingarry on Saturday evening.

The U-12s played two games against Ballingarry on The Green on Sunday morning with the honours shared.
Carrick Swan Club congratulates the Tipperary Intermediate hurling panel and their mentors on their Munster final success over Clare last week. Congratulations are especially extended to Gerry Walsh, who played a prominent part from the corner back position last week and in earlier games. This win qualifies Tipperary for the All-Ireland final against either Kilkenny or Galway on September 1.
Numbers drawn in last week’s juvenile lotto were 2, 5, 11 and 14. There wasn’t a winner of the jackpot prize of €2,500 and six players matched three numbers to win €40 each.
Carrick Swan Club thanks all those who continue to play the lotto and reminds those who might like to join that weekly entry cost €2 and this can be paid to any committee member or to any lotto promoter, who will call to collect each week. This week’s jackpot prize is €2,750.
The Club extends its sympathy to the family of Ann O’Brien of St John’s Terrace, who died during the week.
